Hey beautiful!
I'm excited to present to you another chit chat video on a spiritual topic. Today's topic is: what happens when you ignore signs from the Universe? After posting my video about discovering the difference between intuition and fear, one subscriber of mine asked me, what are the repercussions when we resist divine guidance? In this video, I answer her wonderful question on two different levels: from the perspective of the Universe and from the perspective of the human ego (because they are quite different, haha). You guys, in the eyes of the Divine, we are always on track, always doing our best. If we miss a sign (and we do all the time), the Universe just sends another... and another... and another until we finally see it. From the highest perspective, there is no rush. There is infinite time to learn our lessons, overcome our fears, expand our consciousness, and become the highest version of ourselves. In fact, if we are resisting our growth, we can come back to earth and try it again in a new life! That's how much infinite patience and compassion God has for us. So, if you're ignoring signs from the Universe, in the eyes of the Divine, it's all good. There is more time. There will be more opportunities. There are no mistakes, and you really can't get it wrong. NOW... from the perspective of the human ego, it's a bit different! In the human mind, life is pretty frustrating when you're ignoring divine guidance. It will feel like things just aren't going your way. You might feel stuck, lost, or lonely. You might feel like no one understands you. Issues and challenges will come up repeatedly as patterns until you learn that specific lesson. There will be a lack of flow. It will be hard to find success in the ways that you want. It will feel like you're blocked... because you are. In order to hear your guidance and step into the flow, you need to open your eyes, mind, and heart. Really listen to what the Universe is trying to show you. What are the patterns that the Universe wants you to see? What fears are you being asked to face? Where are you allowing fear to rule your life more than love? All it takes is a shift in your perspective to be able to hear your guidance and move past the blocks in your way. My best advice is to follow your heart. Follow your joy. Follow what makes you feel good in your soul. Soon, you will hear your guidance clearly and you'll feel the divine flow that is always within you. Trust yourself. You've got this. Sending you lots and lots of love today and always! Hey beauties!
I'm excited to share a new type of video with you on my blog. This is a chit chat with me about a spiritual topic, in this case... intuition vs. fear. I've had so many clients and friends ask me: how do I know if I'm hearing my intuition or my fear? What I realized recently is that intuition is actually a tool that we all have that allows us to read the energy around us and see beyond the five senses. Just because we are hearing our intuition doesn't mean that we won't feel fear. Sometimes our intuition makes us feel afraid, and at other times our intuition gives us hopeful guidance from the Universe. Whether we experience our intuition as fear or as divine guidance depends upon our vibration! In other words, if we are vibing at a low level, we'll filter our intuitive guidance through the lens of fear. And if we're vibing at a high level, we can receive divine guidance through our intuition because we are lifting ourselves up to a level where we can connect easily with Spirit. I've been playing with these concepts on my spiritual journey, and I realized that I can trust the guidance that comes to me when I'm feeling joy and peace. When I follow this divine guidance, miracles flow for me. And if the intuition I'm hearing feels yucky, I know that it's being filtered through fear and I choose not to follow it. Perhaps, on your path, you can ask yourself if your intuition is making you feel afraid. And if so, your intuition isn't wrong... it's just not the highest perspective you could be guided by. Then it's up to you to choose- will you be guided by your fear? Or will you raise your vibration so that you can hear the wisdom of the Universe? Many of my spiritual coaching clients have felt rushed to make a change in their lives, and so they are seeking guidance from above. But this desire to change is actually coming from fear within. They feel that if they don't make a change right now, they aren't good enough or they don't have enough. And so, the intuition they receive is cloaked in fear. If you, too, feel rushed to grow, transform, have more, and be more, then I advise you to discover what is beautiful about this moment in your life right now. When you acknowledge the divine perfection of exactly where you are, you let down the walls of fear that keep you stuck in a lower vibration. You discover a sense of peace and ease that lifts you up so that you can hear from the Universe more clearly. My love, you are right on time. There is no rush. And divine timing is always working for you. I hope this helps you on your soul path! Today we’d like to introduce you to Gia George. Gia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far. I have been pursuing my passions my whole life, knowing that I would eventually make a career out of it but not really knowing how. I’ve always just followed my heart, and it has taken me from one pursuit to the next. Now I’m finally seeing how my passions are coming together in my life purpose. Since I can remember, I’ve been a singer and have loved music. I never considered it a career, so when I went to college, I decided to study exercise science. I had always been passionate about health and wellness. During college, I fell in love with yoga, and I studied to become a yoga teacher toward the end of my college experience. I also sang in a choir and an a cappella group in college because I couldn’t stay away from singing for long! After I graduated from San Diego State University & yoga teacher training, I had one of my first big spiritual awakenings. I went to India for the first time and realized that I had a higher purpose as a singer and songwriter. The inspiration was so powerful that I decided to drop my yoga & fitness career, move to LA, go to music school, and pursue a music career. Before too long, I was inspired to start teaching yoga at my music school in Hollywood, and my two paths of music and healing began to merge. I realized I was being reborn… literally. My birth name was Emily, but I decided to go by Gia as my stage name for music. For about six years, I was divided into two people: Emily for yoga and Gia for music. In 2015, it was finally time to be completely transformed into Gia, and this totally changed my life. I had been teaching yoga in LA and was getting more and more inspired about meditation and spirituality. I decided to start a Youtube channel and a Meetup group where I would teach meditation. I was finding it to be even more fulfilling than teaching yoga. At the same time, I was writing and performing pop-folk music in Los Angeles. Finally, in 2015, I was tired of being two people with two identities and pursuits. I started going by Gia full time. I was also fed up with the starving artist struggle in Los Angeles and got inspired to move back to San Diego. Right before I moved back, I was guided to do a Reiki energy healing course and was certified as a level II practitioner. As soon as I moved back to San Diego in October 2015, everything began to fall into place. I met my soulmate, I started performing music around town, I was teaching yoga, and I was pursuing an online career teaching meditation and spirituality. I still felt overwhelmed and confused by all of my different pursuits. Where would spirituality and music come together in me? I began exploring sound healing in my yoga classes and meditation videos. I would sing a healing song with my crystal singing bowl at the end of every class or video. It was everyone’s favorite part! My students always asked me for a recording of the singing bowl with my chants. Little did I know that this would eventually become a career-defining project. In 2017, I was invited to return to India, and I knew intuitively that it would be life-changing. A psychic friend of mine told me that the money was all set aside for my trip. “Where?!” I was thinking. As soon as I asked the question, I got the answer. “Create a sound healing album and do a Kickstarter to raise money for the album. Put this money toward your trip.” I was terrified but decided to go for it. Within 21 days, I raised $3,333 for my trip to India. Within three months, the album was created. Within four months, I was off to India! Right before I left, I saw my first client for private meditation and sound healing because her mom found my website and liked what I had to offer. At the time, I honestly didn’t know that private healing work was what I would be pursuing or offering! I also found out about a healing space near my house where I could potentially see clients. While in India, I received powerful confirmation that I should do energy healing with private clients using sound healing, reiki, meditation, and spiritual coaching. When I got back, everything manifested in the blink of an eye, and here I am! I now offer private energy healing sessions. I perform music around San Diego at events, weddings, hotels, and restaurants. I offer yoga, meditation, and vocal empowerment workshops. I teach meditation on my Youtube channel, and I create meditation content for companies around the world. I’m also about to release my first online course about overcoming negative emotion using the power of your breath! I feel so grateful and blessed to be sharing my gifts with the world. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome? My path has not been smooth in the least. I have quit music more than once. I’ve quit teaching yoga more than once. I’ve hit major roadblocks on my journey and wondered if I was making a mistake in pursuing my career. Honestly, each major setback was showing me how to surrender and let go of attachment. Every time I decided to give up, I was letting go of needing things to unfold “my way,” and I was opening myself up to the way of the Universe. Every roadblock was a gift that guided me to the next epiphany or awakening. My advice to young women starting out is to listen more. Listen to your spirit and your heart. Listen to what you are being guided to do. Let go of having control and start enjoying the ride. Allow your joy to guide you, and you will not be steered wrong. Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Divinely Gia – what should we know? The thing I am most known for is my voice. People often describe it as “angelic” and very soothing. I believe my voice is actually what links all aspects of my career. Whether I am singing pop songs and playing the guitar, teaching meditation or yoga, recording content for a client or channeling sounds in a private session, it is my voice that carries healing energy and inspires others. My tagline is “bringing light to the world.” I do this with my creations and my teachings. I hope to help people feel at home in their souls with my music, healing sessions, and offerings. So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for? Yes. Women are well positioned for showing the world how to love. The world is in dire need of divine feminine energy in all aspects. Women can show the world how to have compassion, patience, and peace. Women can inspire others to listen to their intuition and receive loving energy. These are all aspects of the divine feminine arising in all of us. I was recently interviewed by "The Meditation Guy" on how to start an easy meditation practice. I hope you enjoy the interview! Gia xoxo 1. What is Meditation in Your Eyes? To me, meditation is simply being present with the breath and witnessing the mind, body, and spirit in any given moment. Meditation can include many other methods and practices of finding inner peace, letting go of stress, and feeling positivity and love, but at its core, meditation is simply a state of pure being. 2. Why is Meditation so important? Meditation is important because it allows us to shift our perspective and find clarity. It gives us space from our thoughts so that we can remember our true nature of love and peace within. 3. What Is your Favorite Meditation Technique in your Daily Practice and how often you Meditate? I love to meditate in silence and practice listening to my body and my heart. The body has so much wisdom if we are willing to slow down and really listen. I find that I can hear my intuition and receive guidance for the day when I quiet my thoughts and listen to what’s in my heart. This practice has led me to my most successful, joyful, and creative experiences in my life. There have been phases of my life where I would meditate every morning. But lately, I simply practice mindfulness as I’m going about my day through different activities and I meditate whenever I feel inspired. 4. Why is the “conventional wisdom” about Meditation just plain wrong? I think conventional wisdom about meditation would say that it is a religious practice or has to be practiced within Hinduism or yoga. This is simply not true. Meditation is a practice that can benefit anyone from any religion or no religion, whether they practice yoga and have spiritual beliefs or not. 5. What are the common lies, myths, and misconceptions about Meditation? Many people assume that you have to meditate in lotus posture for an hour a day in order for it to be effective. This is not true. You can meditate while you walk, while you do dishes, while you shower. It’s simply a practice of being present whenever possible. People also say that they aren’t the type of person who can meditate because they can’t keep still or calm their thoughts. But that’s exactly why we meditate! No one starts out with the ability to sit still or quiet their thoughts perfectly. We all start at the beginning and it takes lots of practice to be able to calm the mind. But it’s worth it! 6. How did you stumble upon your solution? I discovered meditation when I started practicing yoga regularly. I began journaling every morning and meditating afterward. I loved starting my day with such a clear mind. When I would go within and start listening, I discovered the meditation techniques that I use and love today. 7. How do you typically get started with Meditation on a step-by-step basis? It’s a good idea to first try guided meditations so that you can listen and follow along with a teacher who will show you the basic steps. But if you’d like to begin with silent meditation, I always recommend starting with breath awareness. Slowly relax your whole body and begin to listen to your breath. See how many breaths you can count without your mind getting distracted. Notice how the breath feels in your body and focus on each sensation. This is a great place to start your practice. Then you can begin to add a mantra to your breath awareness. For example, breathing in, you can silently repeat the words “I am.” Breathing out, you can silently repeat the words, “at peace.” See how long you can stay focused on this practice without your mind get distracted with thoughts. This is a wonderful meditation practice to begin with. 8. What is the #1 reason most people FAIL to succeed with Meditation? I think people give up on meditation because they believe that they aren’t achieving a specific goal with meditation. People think that the purpose of meditation is to have zero thoughts - and that’s not really possible. Truly, there is no failure or success with meditation - it’s simply a practice that changes every day. Some days it will be easy to let go of thoughts. Other days it will be very difficult. This doesn’t mean you are failing at meditation. It means that you are using this practice to the best of your ability when you need it. It’s important to let go of the outcome with meditation. Then there’s no need to give up. It’s always an exploration that will change day to day. 9. What are some specific roadblocks to watch out for? Watch out for negative thoughts that are judgmental and frustrated toward yourself. If you are very emotional or upset, it may not be the best time to meditate. Give yourself time to cool off and process your feelings. If you try to meditate when you are upset, you may end up being hard on yourself and giving up. 10. How can you, specifically, overcome these roadblocks? Be patient with yourself. Be kind toward yourself. Meditation is a subtle and gentle practice that requires patience, stillness, and surrender. If you are overwhelmed with negative thoughts, journal about it or do something fun before attempting to meditate. Keep it light and go easy on yourself. 11. What are some specific action steps that you can take, today? Any time you feel stressed or overwhelmed, stop and take 3 deep breaths. Clear your mind and reset with a positive attitude. 12. What if you got started today with Meditation... what would your life look like in 30 days, 90 days, or a year? I believe you would feel much more peaceful, joyful, and present in just 30 days. In a year or more, your whole life could change. Meditation helps us tap into our intuition and our higher purpose. Over time, meditation will help you live the life of your dreams, filled with happiness, peace, love, and presence. 13. What additional resources are available to help ensure success? (Like I mentioned in this post) Although I thought I had a plan for what was next in my life, when a psychic channel told me that I'd be invited to India with a small spiritual group, and months later I received that exact invitation, I was willing to drop everything and take the adventure of a lifetime. It was nothing short of deeply transformational and spiritually uplifting. Most of the time, I was so absorbed in the moment that I didn't film many of my inspiring Instagram videos or even get out my journal to document my process. I was just... in it. But I did take a few short videos and had some realizations to share with you. Here are 3 things (among SO many) that I learned on my journey to Rishikesh, India: 1. Being human is as spiritual as it gets I mean, sure, astral projection and levitation sound pretty spiritually impressive, but when I was in Rishikesh, I realized that being in a human body is the ultimate spiritual experience! We get to taste, smell, feel, dance, stretch, breathe, listen, see, and experience a rainbow of emotions. When we leave these bodies, we will ache to experience the human form again. While dealing with jet lag, a little "runny belly," and a tad bit of culture shock, I realized that just being in touch with my human self is a wildly fascinating spiritual experience. 2. Asking "why" stops up the process Another powerful thing I realized while journeying to Rishikesh is that we are in constant process on our spiritual journeys. We are always shifting, changing, and growing. Sometimes this looks like losing a job or getting sick. Sometimes this looks like having epiphanies and creating new things. But we can't help it; we are always changing, and it's ALWAYS for our soul growth. The only thing that sometimes gets in the way of our spiritual shifts is when we ask the question "why." "Why me?" "Why did this happen?" "Why now?" We start blocking the energy that wants to flow through us and transform us. Needing to know why will actually slow down the uncomfortable phase of transformation. If we can let go and trust what is shifting inside us, we will quickly see the other side. 3. We can choose to be the stone or the water Spending 2 weeks on the Ganges River in the holy Himalayas will give you lots of inspiration! One such notion came to me on my last day while I was sitting next to the water meditating; in life, we can either choose to be the stone or the water. Life is a constant, flowing, evolving dance, just like the Ganges River (or Ma Ganga as she's known in Rishikesh). We can choose to flow with her and be the water, or we can choose to plop down and resist the flow, as does a stone in the river. When being the stone, we want to be in control and resist change. We want things "our way." But life flows past us every moment, and we stay stuck wanting things to be different than they are. When being the water, we synchronize with the rhythm of life and find ease and harmony. We shift and evolve with the currents, and enjoy the constant dance of life. Which one sounds better to you? Below is a video that I made with photos and video clips from my trip (with one of my latest healing chants as the background music!). I hope you'll enjoy watching my journey.
